DEPECHE MODE - ENJOY THE SILENCE

I was seriously obsessed with this video when I was in middle school. My parents blessed me with an old VHS tape that had like about 10 hours of music videos off MTV recorded on it. All 1980’s alternative classic gems. I grew up on this stuff. Perhaps that’s why my music tastes are so golden now. Thanks mom & dad.

got the latest issue of Alternative Press magazine today. Mixed emotions when I got to the center and found included a poster of Panic(!) at the Disco. My first reaction was “OH MY GOSH YES!” and then I saw Brent, and realized that Brendon was like 18 and looked at the bottom of the poster and noticed “classic AP band poster”. CLASSIC? Yes. In what way? As in old? Am I getting old? All of this is just too much.

At the end of it, he’s even stronger and more snide and thinks he’s invincible no matter what. He’s an asshole, but at that point in my life, I was kind of an asshole. As we were making Kids in the Street, I went from that to being a completely humbled guy who’s looking at his reflection saying, ‘Wow, what have I done?’ It may make me not seem very likeable, but it was important that I be truthful and really open up on this album about what I’ve been through.’”—Tyson Ritter (lead vocalist/lyricist)
