Wilder was initially hesitant, but finally accepted the role under one condition:
When I make my first entrance, I’d like to come out of the door carrying a cane and then walk toward the crowd with a limp. After the crowd sees Willy Wonka is a cripple, they all whisper to themselves and then become deathly quiet. As I walk toward them, my cane sinks into one of the cobblestones I’m walking on and stands straight up, by itself… but I keep on walking, until I realize that I no longer have my cane. I start to fall forward, and just before I hit the ground, I do a beautiful forward somersault and bounce back up, to great applause.
When Stuart asked why, Wilder replied, “because from that time on, no one will know if I’m lying or telling the truth.”

The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
ever since I read this book at age six I’ve been in love with the story, the whole idea, a garden. I fell in love with Victorian art, lifestyle and decor. I want a secret garden & a victorian mansion.
I’ve seen every film adaption of this book also :)

Graduation (Friends Forever) - Vitamin C
this song is kinda relevant to my life now.
kinda bittersweet.
So many people I know graduated this year (including myself) and two of out of my three closest friends are officially out of the “high school nest”.
We’re practically adults.
We’re growing up.
It’s totally strange. I never wanted to do this. Yet so much of me is ready to leave ALL of this behind and recreate myself or just who I appear to be. See, I’ve never really changed. The core of who I am is constant, defiant and unwavering. The outside has developed some (thank the Lord) but inside I’m still me, who I’ve always been. Now with an adult shell or cocoon. I’m what society sees as “matured” but I never asked to be. I just want to be, whomever that may be, and I want to leave all of this behind so I can see who me is going to be.
So long high school, it’s been fun (ish), but I am so glad you are over.
No regrets.

got the latest issue of Alternative Press magazine today. Mixed emotions when I got to the center and found included a poster of Panic(!) at the Disco. My first reaction was “OH MY GOSH YES!” and then I saw Brent, and realized that Brendon was like 18 and looked at the bottom of the poster and noticed “classic AP band poster”. CLASSIC? Yes. In what way? As in old? Am I getting old? All of this is just too much.

At my public Library we have epic bragging rights. the entire Children’s section is devoted to “Where the Wild Things Are”. Our artwork was commissioned and done by Maurice Sendak himself and we are the only place in the world where you can see some of this original artwork not found in the book (for instance the back of the wild things)!
