Prayer to Saint Mary Magdalene

O God, when others were ready to condemn Mary Magdalene,
Jesus accepted her with all her imperfections.
She in turn accepted Your Son as her Saviour.
It was to St. Mary Magdalene, before all others,
that Jesus committed the message of Easter joy.
Through her intercession, may we proclaim Christ
as our living Lord and one day contemplate Him reigning in glory.
Amen.

another prayer:
Saint Mary Magdalene,
woman of many sins, who by conversion became the beloved of Jesus, thank you for your witness that Jesus forgives through the miracle of love.

You, who already possess eternal happiness in His glorious presence,
please intercede for me, so that some day I may share in the same everlasting joy.

Amen.

Saint Mary Magdalene is my hero because she let go of her pride and accepted Christ’s forgiveness. Her relationship with Christ and her faith is testimony that none of us can ever fall so far away from grace that we are unforgivable. Mary, a former prostitute/adulteress, never left Jesus during His passion or at the foot of the cross. She was the first to see Him in glory after the resurrection. She represents hope and faith for all who have fallen and struggle with chastity.

"…no man can hope for eternal reward unless he follow in the blood-stained footprints of his Savior…

…”If we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him.” (2 Timothy 2:12) Christ’s labors and sufferings, accepted of His own free will, have marvelously sweetened all suffering and all labor. And not only by His example, but by His grace and by the hope held forth of everlasting recompense, has He made pain and grief more easy to endure; “for that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation, worked for us above measure exceedingly an eternal weight of glory.” (2 Corinthians 4:17) …”

-A Prayer for Conversion-
Dear Lord, You call me each day to conversion,

to leave what is wrong in my life behind.
Lead me to replace anger with forgiveness, apathy with service,

suspicion with trust, cynicism with hope,

gossip with praise, and indifference with love.
I know I can never grow without Your grace.

Your love is my power to change.
AMEN.

"Our hearts were made for You, O Lord, and they will not rest until they rest in You."

Who I was has been set free.

Who I am though, is not who I want to be.

God is calling me daily to this “future me”.

I will run towards it with abandon.

Abandoning daily, the “old me”.

For my troubles are cast on His shoulders.

My feet run in His footsteps.

My body is clothed in His grace.

My lips long to sing His praise.

My heart yearns for a millionth chance.

I lay prostrate at the Cross.

Remembering Your loss.

For my gain.

Jesus, though I am wretched, disfigured and ashamed, YOU love ME just the same.

Christ, you are the light which darkness cannot overcome.
Indeed, darkness is not dark to you;
For the night is as bright as day.
Christ, be the light which dispels our darkness
And restore order to our inner chaos.
Deliver us from the darkness of our self-centred ways;
From greed, envy and ignorance;
From unrestrained passions;
From the darkness of despair, futility and despondency.
Christ, the wisdom of God
In our moments of anxiety and insecurity,
You are the voice of faith who proclaims, ‘Peace, be still.’
In a culture of greed and mistrust, fill us with hope.
Despite the pain of loss and failure,
Let hope enable us to see God in all situations and events.
You are a God who is in control,
A God of all possibilities,
A God of new beginnings.
You are the voice of reason,
Who summons us back to sanity.
You remind us of our Kingdom priorities;
Although we are in the world,
We are to transcend the ways of the world.
Help us to live wisely, with moderation and prudence,
To exercise discernment and sound judgment,
And conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of our calling.
God, enable us by your wisdom to keep things in perspective.
For, God, you are bigger than the problems we face each day.
We remember your mercy and faithfulness.
Through your counsel and encouragement,
You have enabled us to overcome the many setbacks and adversities of life.
We continue now, to trust in your goodness and provision.
For you are a God who hears, answers, and acts on our behalf,
Out of the abundance of your eternal love.
We trust you in your grace and mercy to sustain us.
Amen.

THE STORY -a poem of mine-

This is life: so many blank pages, just waiting to be graced with words.
There is an Author with a beautiful outline.
The tale unravels.
Everyday we grow closer to an end.
Time passes away and we await the unknown.
Consumed and entranced by this artistry.
Our eyes shine with a child-like sense of wonder and curiosity.
"Where is this taking me?"
We will ask.
"What is it I seek?"
We hold tight during the climax and every turn wherever they (He) take(s) us.
The anticipation is great, but surely we will not be dissapointed.
When the pen is put down, what will we see?
A heart, a soul, and a story with diverse depth and complexity.
Unique in a style quite its own. A dream?
No, but the truth.
Reality felt and lived vibrantly.
Passsionate outbursts of spirit.
A life profoundly lived.
The profession of a soul.
The testimony of its Author.
